WATERFORD – Polls will be open Friday, March 4 for what will likely be a lackluster annual town election.
Deputy Clerk Betty Becker said polls will be opened from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the municipal office at 366 Valley Road for voters to cast their ballots for candidates in two, uncontested open seats.
Incumbent Selectman Wyatt Andrews and incumbent SAD 17 Director Judy Green are up for re-election this year at the annual town election.
Both candidates are seeking re-election.
Andrews of Bisbeetown Road first won election to the board in 2010 as a write-in candidate to fill a vacancy created by John Bell, who chose not to seek re-election because of career commitments. Bell has since been re-elected to the board.
Wyatt, a 1977 graduate of Oxford Hills High School, worked in the manufactured housing industry, working for the former Burlington Homes and KBS in Paris.
He said at the time, he sought the position to become more involved in town politics.
Green, a former SAD 17 adult education director, was elected in 2013 when longtime SAD 17 Director Bill Hanger decided not to seek re-election to the board.
