PARIS — The Oxford County Educators Association-Retired will hold its first meeting of the year on Friday, March 11, at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

The meeting will be held in the culinary arts area and will begin at 11 a.m. Attendees will be able to sign in beginning at 10:30 a.m. The meal will be served by students in the culinary arts program around noon. Currently, the program is not finalized.

OCEA-R welcomes any retired teachers and others who have worked in school systems, such as librarians, secretaries, custodians, cafeteria workers and bus drivers. Everyone who worked with youths in a school setting is invited to join.

OCEA-R provides an opportunity for former educators to meet socially, but also encourages graduating high school seniors to continue their education through an annual scholarship program. OCEA-R encourages youths to read by contributing books to public libraries throughout Oxford County, and OCEA-R speaks for the interests of retired teachers and the schools within the area.
