SOUTH PARIS — Bail amounts and conditions were set Friday afternoon for a Wilton woman and a New York man charged with selling cocaine.
Judge Rick Lawrence set identical conditions for Arder Prinkleton, 45, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Crystal Taylor of Wilton on a felony charge of trafficking in cocaine. The proceeding was held via videoconference from the Franklin County jail in Farmington.
Lawrence set bail at $1,000 cash for each. Bail conditions were no use or possession of illegal drugs, submit random search, and no contact between them.
A conviction for trafficking in cocaine is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
The two were arrested after police and drug enforcement agents searched an apartment on Village View Street in Wilton on Wednesday, Police Chief Heidi Wilcox said in a news release.
Prinkleton was also arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in York County. Illegal drugs were found on him, Wilcox said.
Officers got a search warrant and found more than two ounces of cocaine and more than $6,000 in cash in the apartment, Wilcox said. Wilcox said the street value of the drugs seized is about $7,000.
Prinkleton and Taylor were initially held on $20,000 cash bail. Prinkleton’s bail on the warrant charge is $750.
