BRIDGTON — Republican state Rep. Phyllis Ginzler has announced her intention to seek re-election to the House District 69 seat, which includes the towns of Bridgton, Denmark and Harrison. If re-elected, it would be her second term.

During the 127th Legislature, Ginzler sponsored three bills, most notably LD 280, “An Act To Exempt Military Pensions and Survivor Benefits from Maine Income Tax,” which was funded as part of the 2016-17 state budget.

She also co-sponsored many other bills, one of which resulted in revenue returned to the town of Bridgton.

Ginzler serves on the Judiciary Committee. She currently has a 100 percent voting record for the 127th Legislature and has been named co-chairwoman of the Commission to End Student Hunger, along with Sen. Justin Alfond, D-Portland.

Ginzler has a Master of Business Administration in finance from Babson College in Boston and has spent more than 20 years in the computer industry in regional, national and international sales management. She is a retired sales executive with Hewlett Packard and taught in public middle school for eight years.

She continues to serve as president of the Bridgton Hospital Guild and on the board of Bridgton Hospital. She has previously served as a volunteer patient advocate at Bridgton Hospital, as well as on the board of the Bridgton Community Center, where she chaired the Funding Committee. She is also a member of the NRA.

Ginzler lives in Bridgton with her husband, David, and has one son and a grandson.
