RUMFORD — Two people were taken to the hospital via ambulance Monday following a head-on collision on Route 2, Rumford Police Sgt. Tracey Higley said.
Higley said that George Shaw of Rumford was pulling out of Marden’s Surplus and Salvage on Route 2 in his pickup truck when a Dodge Durango struck him. The driver of the Durango was unidentified.
“Shaw pulled out into the road in front of the Durango, which resulted in the accident,” Higley said.
He added that both drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the Rumford Hospital by ambulance.
“The vehicles were both towed away, and were considered to be totaled,” Higley said.
