LEWISTON — The Maine College of Health Professions has appointed Monika Bissell as president.
Bissell, of Plymouth, N.H., began her position on April 18. She succeeds Dr. Richard Farmer.
Previously, Bissell served as vice president of Academic Affairs at Landmark College in Putney, Vt., where she worked closely with faculty, advisers and professional staff in developing and implementing quality academic programs. She has held leadership roles in distance learning initiatives, organizational restructuring, strategic planning and in expansion of community partnerships.
She earned a Doctorate of Business Administration from Nova-Southeastern University in 2008, and a Master of Business Administration from Plymouth State College in 1994.
