FARMINGTON — The Livermore road foreman pleaded not guilty to a drunken-driving charge via a letter from his attorney, Margot Joly, dated April 25.
Gerald Whitney, 60, of Wilton was scheduled to be arraigned on the misdemeanor charge of operating under the influence on Tuesday at the Farmington District Court. His next court appearance is tentatively set for May 31.
Farmington police Officer Michael Lyman stopped a vehicle driven by Whitney on March 18 on Main Street in Farmington after he noticed a taillight out and the vehicle being operated poorly, according to police. Lyman interviewed Whitney and asked him to do an Intoxilyzer breath test and he was subsequently arrested.
Whitney was released from the Franklin County jail on $3,000 unsecured bail on March 19.
Whitney remains employed by Livermore, interim Administrative Assistant Amy Byron said Tuesday.
