LEWISTON — Androscoggin Bank’s MainStreet Foundation recently awarded three grants to three Lewiston-Auburn organizations.
A $2,500 grant was given to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine to support the Auburn clubhouse’s efforts to engage younger members in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Program via LEGO robotics build kits.
A $2,500 grant was given to the Girl Scouts of Maine to support A Place for Girls Lewiston. The funds will help reach at-risk girls in Lewiston through its comprehensive prevention program that promotes resiliency in girls by giving them a safe and healthy physical environment, trust and respect from caring adults and a feeling of belonging and worth.
A $5,000 grant was given to the Trinity Jubilee Center in Lewiston to help it address the unmet needs of underserved people in the Lewiston-Auburn area. The grant will specifically support the center’s Summer Food Internship Project, which gives two at-risk youth the opportunity to build leadership skills, gain hands-on job experience and support their families through cooking breakfast and lunch for low-income and at-risk children in their neighborhood.
