ANSWER: You’re very welcome. Sun Spots is sure someone will appreciate your generous offer.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: As the spring temperatures slowly rise, people may be thinking about participating in a road race this year. There are many to choose from, as the interest in running continues to grow. If anyone would like to get in a few practice runs, the Sabattus Rec Club Running Program has free, weekly group runs on Wednesday nights, except in severe weather. We head out at 6 p.m. from Mixer’s parking lot on Route 126 in the Sabattus mini-mall. We generally run for abut 30 to 45 minutes, and the routes vary. We are open to any and all ages and abilities, from walkers to runners. For more information, find us on Facebook at Sabattus Rec Running Program, or call Jon at (207) 375-8105. Thank you very much. — Jon, Sabattus.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Would anyone have a toddler’s table and chair to sell? I need one for my 1 1/2-year-young granddaughter. Please call (207) 795-6460. Thank you. — Sheila, No Town.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Farmington Falls Fire Company is asking for donations of clean usable items for their annual fundraising sale this summer. Proceeds help support the youth baseball teams in Farmington Falls. Please contact Junior Turner at (207) 778-6221, Bob Gramlich at 778-3156 or Jim Millet at 491-6170 (evenings only). Thank you. — Terri, Farmington Falls.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Livermore Public Library is looking for donations of unique garden-grown perennials for their 10th yearly plant sale which will be held Saturday, May 28. Plants such as astilbe, bleeding heart, peonies, echinacea and lupine are always asked for and would make a great addition to our offerings. Local garden-grown perennials are proven hardy for the area and are generally easy to divide and replant, and we would be honored to accept plants that you would like to share with us. This year, our library needs a new chimney and roof work and every penny raised from this plant sale will go to these and other needs, and for the purchase of new books. To donate plants, or for more information, call Sarah Delaney at 897-0978. Thank you in advance. — Sarah, Livermore.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Regarding the Mark Trail letter that appeared Monday, May 2, love your column and agree that Mark Trail should have had some beard growth from spending time trapped in that cave, but he should not grow old. Where would the cartoon end up with him getting ancient? After all, he’s the star of the show and my favorite. For him to get in and out of trouble makes it interesting. — No Name, Rumford.
ANSWER: Cartoon characters are notorious for anti-aging. Sun Spots suspects you don’t have to worry.
