When will people push to change from a system that was created during colonial times (Electoral College) to a more reasonable one where everyone has a vote that is counted equal to someone else’s in this country?
The person with the most votes should win an election. Just ask anyone on the street if they favor the Electoral College versus the individual vote.
I believe most people would agree that votes mean more than electors, as that system was devised to allow people enough time to travel by horse/buggy to where they would place their state/colony’s choice for president.
The system needs to change for the better. In today’s world, things happen fast/faster.
Also why does the United States have a campaign system that seems to go on and on forever when many countries around the world limit such campaigning to as little as six weeks?
Is there no incentive to change?
Why not?
