JAY — Police said a New Sharon woman faces drug charges after a Franklin County deputy pulled her vehicle over for a loud exhaust system on Macomber Hill Road.
Deputy Derick Doucette arrested Jessica Power, 33, of New Sharon on Thursday on three misdemeanor counts of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs. While she was at the Franklin County jail in Farmington, he charged her Friday with a fourth count of misdemeanor unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, Doucette said Friday.
Doucette said after he stopped the vehicle, he requested Lt. David Rackliffe and his K-9, Justice, a trained narcotics detection dog, to search the vehicle. They found codeine, gabapentin pills, which is an anti-epileptic medicine, suboxone, which is an opioid, and hashish oil, he said.
Powers was also issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said.
Powers was released on $300 cash bail Friday, a corrections officer said.
