While conservatives are questioning how Facebook compiles its “Trending” list, Maine Gov. Paul LePage appeared on the list Tuesday morning.
It was the video that aired on John Oliver’s “Last Week Tonight” show that gave LePage the boost. Or the many Facebook users who shared the video profile of LePage for the show’s “People Who Somehow Got Elected” series.
The video is a compilation of the many LePage remarks that get him less than favorable publicity. (The narrator actually uses more objectionable language that LePage does in the clips.) Nothing in the video will be new to Maine news consumers or Rachel Maddow fans.
Since last week, Facebook has been trying to address concerns about how it selects stories for the “Trending” feature after accusations it downplayed conservative stories.
