AUBURN — Auburn Recreation Department has announced its summer trips for seniors.
Those interested may register for trips by visiting the Senior Citizens’ Office at the Auburn Recreation Department from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Songo River Queen: Thursday, July 21. Attendees will travel to Naples for a two-hour cruise on the Songo River Queen II, a replica of a Mississippi paddle boat. Cruise is at noon. The van will leave Pettengill Park at 10:30 a.m. and return around 3:30 p.m. Lunch of an Italian sandwich, chips and beverage will be served on board the cruise. Cost is $25 for First Auburn Senior Citizens Club members or $35 for nonmembers. The group will stop at Gifford’s Ice Cream on the way back.
Sebago Lake State Park: Thursday, Aug. 11. Those attending should bring their favorite chair and a bag lunch. The van will leave Pettengill Park at 8:30 a.m. and return by 4 p.m. Seniors are admitted to the park for free, but cost is $5 for transportation. The group will stop at Gifford’s Ice Cream on the way home.
Old Orchard Beach: Tuesday, Aug. 16. Those attending can bring a lunch or purchase one. Van will leave Pettengill Park at 9 a.m. and return by 4 p.m. Cost is $5 for transportation and parking.
