HARTFORD — Annual town elections Tuesday, June 14, at the Town Hall will decide on a selectman, town clerk, treasurer and tax collector, as well as a moderator.

Selectman Peg Poskus is running unopposed for a three-year term and Deputy Clerk Barbara Robinson and Elizabeth Plumley are seeking the jobs of clerk, treasurer and tax collector.

The annual town meeting continues at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at Town Hall with the remaining items on the 54-article warrant.

The first item is electing or appointing a General Assistance director, an assessor, five Budget Committee members and a fire warden, all for one-year terms.

Other articles are:

* $171,910 for summer roads, a $21,147 increase from last year;

* $50,000 for summer roads reserve account, same as last year;

* $244,859 for winter roads; $88 more than last year;

* $88,755 for solid waste curbside pickup and recycling services, and Transfer Station operation, nearly $2,100 less than last year;

* $84,581 for public safety, $2,242 more than last year;

* $138,743 for administration, an increase of $8,168 from last year; and

* $9,400 for the revaluation reserve account, an increase of $5,800 from last year.

“We will plan to have a revaluation beginning this spring/summer,” Selectman Lee Holman said in an email. “My understanding is that this is to begin saving toward the next one.”

Holman said an increase in the amount for cemeteries — from $1,850 last year to $2,200 this year — is for requested repairs.

An $8,000 increase for the Town Hall — from $1,188 to $9,188 — is to pay for a roof over the wheelchair ramp at the hall.

Other funding requests include:

• $1,200 for The Hartford News;

• $2,000 for the Recreation Department;

• $741 for area snowmobile clubs for maintenance;

• $300 for the Hartford Food Bank;

• $795 for Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice;

• $1,000 for Community Concepts;

• $2,500 for Rural Community Action Ministry;

• $510 for SeniorsPlus;

• $1,500 for Tri County Mental Health;

• $650 for Lake Region Senior Service;

• $593 for Lifeflight;

• $800 for the Zadoc Long Free Library; and

• $1,500 for Buckfield Recreation.
