BRIDGTON — Bridgton Police say they responded to a report of a suspicious bear lurking near trash cans and bird feeders in a residential area around lunchtime.

Police say the suspect is described as approximately 4 feet tall, dark complexion, and appears to be very fuzzy.

The public is urged to be on the lookout and to be mindful of the “bare necessities (the simple bare necessities) of life.”

“Investigators are also looking into any connections between this incident and recent thefts where only honey and marmalade have been targeted,” Bridgton Police said on Facebook.
