DEAR SUN SPOTS: We read Sun Spots daily in the paper and have learned many things about Lewiston-Auburn. Earlier this year, there was a Sun Journal article regarding a large parcel of land just off Turnpike Exit 80 that was to be developed, by Gendron & Gendron, I think. The article said an announcement would be coming soon about a large retail store, unnamed. We were sure hoping for Costco. Since then, we’ve seen no further mention of what’s happening with that area and hope you might find out what’s up. Thank you for a great asset to the area. — No Name, No Town.

ANSWER: There’s been quite a bit of speculation (and wishful thinking) about which stores might come to town should the Exit 80 development materialize. There is no update as of yet, but these things can take time. Because the parties involved are private companies, they are in control of when information is released to the public. Keep reading the Sun Journal, and as soon as there is news to report, the reporters following the potential development will share it with you.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: To get rid of ants, I put a cotton ball sprinkled with boric acid, sugar and a little water on a plate. The ants take a piece of the cotton back to their nest and other ants eat on it. I have used this method for many years and it has always worked for me. — Peggy, No Town.

ANSWER: Thank you for sharing your tip.
