LEWISTON — The School Committee on Monday night reviewed school policies and appointed officials.
Among the discussions were the following:
• An amended field trip policy, along with multiple summer field trip approvals;
• Concussion policies and civil conduct in the school’s updated athletic handbook; and
• A plan to reallocate a technology bond, which was approved. The new plan, if finalized, will ensure that all students in the high school will receive a Chromebook, which will also be fully insured by the school.
The School Committee also addressed some personnel changes:
• Michelle Winslow was named the new assistant principal at Geiger Elementary School. She previously worked there as the special education supervisor.
• Rebecca Drouin was named the district clinical supervisor for the School Department.
• Superintendent Bill Webster announced his upcoming sabbatical and allocated an additional $5,000 to assistant Superintendent Tom Jarvis, who will be taking on more responsibilities during that time.
The next School Committee meeting will be held Monday, Aug. 22.
