LIVERMORE FALLS — Police on Monday were investigating a break-in at a residence on Haines Corner Road where a safe was broken into and a small amount of cash and other items were taken.
Most of the change from a piggy bank was stolen, leaving only a few pennies behind, Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.
Officer Connor Willard responded to the burglary that was reported at 6:07 a.m. Sunday. The break-in is believed to have occurred Saturday, he said.
The safe was damaged to the point that it could not be opened again, Steward said. Some of the items that had been in the safe were found on the floor.
