WILTON — The driver of a tractor-trailer faces a police citation after he crossed the centerline on the McCrillis Corner Road and struck an oncoming vehicle early Tuesday morning.

Juan Caceres, 24, of Braintree, Massachusetts, was cited for failing to keep in the proper lane following the 1:11 a.m. accident, Wilton Police Chief Heidi Wilcox, said.

Caceres was driving west on McCrillis Corner Road in a 2012 Freightliner Ryder rental truck when he approached a small bridge located before the intersection with Route 133, she said.

The bridge is narrow and the truck went over the centerline, she said.

The tractor-trailer struck an oncoming 2005 Honda Pilot driven by Robert Wilcox, 62, of Livermore Falls. Wilcox and his passenger, Andrew Wilcox, 18, received minor injuries from the collision, she said.

Wilton police officer Brian Lynch responded to the accident and notified the state police’s commercial vehicle division.
