SANDY RIVER PLANTATION — A plantation employee Monday discovered that there had been a break-in at the Transfer Station on Main Street.

The door had been kicked in and a fire extinguisher was stolen, Chief Deputy Steven Lowell of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said.

The burglary reported at 10:07 a.m. is believed to have occurred over the weekend.

A cost of damage and the value of the extinguisher were not available Tuesday.

Deputy Brad Scovil is investigating.

Deputies also responded to reports of burglaries on Vine Road in Alder Stream Township and on Baker Drive in Phillips on Monday.

In the Alder Stream case, damage was done to a door at a building on Vine Road but no entry was gained, Lowell said. Scovil also investigated that case, which was reported at 1:36 p.m.

In Phillips, Deputy Keith Madore was waiting for the owner of the property to determine whether anything was taken, Lowell said. The burglary was reported at 12:04 p.m.
