AUBURN — Attorney Jon Oxman, managing partner at Linnell, Choate & Webber, LLP, was a presenter in two different sessions of the 2016 Maine Workers Comp Summit held recently in Rockport.

At the first session, “Legal Ethics 2016,” Oxman co-led a group of Maine workers’ compensation attorneys in examining current legal ethics issues applicable to the workers’ compensation bar.

Oxman was also one of six panelists at the summit’s final session, the “Comp Summit Think Tank” 2016, which dealt with the future of workers’ compensation in Maine. Led by Paul Sighinolfi, the executive director of the Maine workers’ compensation system, the Think Tank panel addressed developments in other jurisdictions in the United States and possible future events related to Maine.

Oxman focused on opinions of the Supreme Courts of Utah, Florida and New Mexico and their examination of legislative action in those three states that were deemed unconstitutional as to issues of coverage, benefits and legal fees, and the implications of those decisions in Maine.
