Friday, 7 p.m.

The Red Eddies were tied with Portland for a half, but then faltered in the second half. The Vikings have been better in the second half of both their games. Both coaches will likely be looking for a full, 48-minute effort from their respective teams.

CHEVERUS (1-1) AT LEWISTON (0-2)

Friday, 7 p.m.

The Blue Devils can probably take some solace in the Stags getting shut out last week. But that was against Thornton Academy. Lewiston was also shut out, so one of these offenses will have to show up on Friday night.

Both of these teams earned their first win last week. Another win would get momentum rolling. The Hornets have a date with Marshwood looming next week, but they can’t overlook the Wildcats, especially on the road.

LAWRENCE (0-2) AT MT. BLUE (0-2)

Friday, 7 p.m.

These two teams combined for two points in losses to conference heavyweights last week. The Cougars finally get to play their home opener, which could give them an advantage in looking for their first win.

The Falcons fell just short against Yarmouth in week two. Poor Lake Region now gets to be a punching bag against a Mountain Valley team that is hard-hitting on both sides of the ball.

POLAND (0-2) AT YARMOUTH (2-0)

Friday, 7 p.m.

The Clippers like to play fast on their home turf. The Knights have struggled to get their new offense going through two games, scoring just one touchdown total. Could be playing catch-up early.

Friday, 7 p.m.

The Phoenix got their quarteback and their mojo back in a week two win over Lake Region. Facing a quality Capers team, will Spruce Mountain be the team that struggled against Wells or ran roughshod on the Lakers?

DIRIGO (1-0) AT WINTHROP/MONMOUTH (2-0)

Friday, 7 p.m.

The Ramblers had to sweat out a week two win at Traip. Meanwhile, the Cougars had a week off to prepare for this game. Winthrop/Monmouth’s offense hasn’t found its stride yet. A talented Dirigo squad could prevent that again this week.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER (0-2) AT FREEPORT (1-1)

Saturday, 2:30 p.m.

Both teams were blown out last week. The Falcons have a feather in their cap in the form of a week one win against Poland. The Patriots need to win here to get out of the conference basement.
