AUBURN — The St. Dominic Academy boys soccer team took out a season’s worth of frustration on Poland, lighting up the Knights 5-0 on Monday.
Mack Pelletier scored twice for the Saints, and Matt Gagnon, Ryan Davis and Hunter Hughes added a goal apiece.
St. Dom’s (1-5) game into the game without a win and having scored only two goals.
“It’s a huge monkey off our back,” Saints coach Marty Bressler said. “To score five goals feels really good.”
The Saints outshot the Knights (0-5) 23-1.
Field Hockey
Mountain Valley 3, Hall-Dale 1
RUMFORD — Mountain Valley scored three second-half goals to defeat Hall-Dale 3-1 in field hockey action Monday.
The Bulldogs (1-6) took a 1-0 lead into halftime, but the Falcons responded with goals by Kassie Thibodeau, Breanna Burgess and Chelsea Allison after the intermission.
Thibodeau also had an assist. Avery Sevigny set up two goals.
Mountain Valley (3-4) goalkeeper Alyssa Akers made four saves. The Falcons outshot the Bulldogs 31-11.
Poland 10, Waynflete 0
POLAND — Higera Nawass, Sadie Archer and Lauren Lee each tallied two goals to pace the Poland field hockey team in a 10-0 shellacking of Waynflete on Monday.
Desiree Menard, Lexi Morey, Briana Doucette and Olivia Bell also scored for the Knights, who improved to 4-2-1 with the victory. Doucette also had three assists.
Waynflete (0-4) goalkeeper Keira MacWhinnie faced 40 shots and made 30 saves.
Boothbay 7, Telstar 0
BETHEL — Sydney Meader scored four goals in Boothbay’s 7-0 field hockey win over Telstar on Monday.
Paige Brown contributed a goal and two assists to the Seahawks’ (5-1-1) victory. Chloe Arsenault added a goal and an assist, Riley Sullivan had a goal and Nicole Clarke assisted on one goal.
Telstar (0-7) goalkeeper Perry Morton made 11 saves.
