CANTON — Selectman Brian Keene said paving around the Town Office will not be done this fall because of colder weather and lack of money.

“The town will wait and do it probably next spring or early summer, mainly because we don’t have enough money, but also because we’re hoping to loop it in at the same time (as) we do some actual road paving,” he said. “We’ll probably get some better prices then.”

Bids were discussed at the selectmen meeting on Sept. 22.

Next week, some selectmen and Highway Foreman Paul McKenna will inspect town roads that may need paving, Keene said. The group will likely discuss their findings at the Oct. 13 selectmen meeting.

The paving around the Town Office includes the entry door area at the side of the office building, the office parking lot and behind the building.

The town will also replace a wooden ramp with a steel ramp at the meeting room door.

“We’ll put it out to bid again once we get the entire project figured out,” he said.
