GRAY — The Patriots posted a goal in each half as Gray-New Glouester took a 2-0 victory over St. Dom’s in boys’ soccer action Saturday afternoon.

Bryce Hyman put the Patriots (6-3-1) up 1-0 at the half. Nathaniel Brindley added a goal in the second stanza.

Goalie Brandon Glover made nine saves for the Saints (1-7), while goalkeeper John Henry Villanueva stopped two to earn the win in net for Gray-New Gloucester.

WINTHROP — Avry Griffin beat his defender and came around the corner before driving home the only goal of the game into the back of the cage as Telstar secured a 1-0 victory over Winthrop in boys’ soccer action Saturday afternoon.

Goalie Jackson Ladd made seven saves for the Ramblers (1-7-1), while goalkeeper Boston Ludden turned away five to earn the win in net for the Rebsls (5-4).

Buckfield 7, Vinalhaven 1

BUCKFIELD — Noah Wiley scored a pair of goals in the first two minutes to propel Buckfield to a 7-1 victory over Vinalhaven in boys’ soccer action Saturday afteroon.

Ethan Jackson also had two goals for the Bucks (7-1-1), including a kick from 30 yards out that hit the upper 90.

Max Stanley scored a penalty kick off a handball in the box late in the game for the Vikings (3-5) to spoil the shutout.

Sacopee Valley 3, Poland 0

POLAND — Maccoy Reinhard scord a goal in the first half to lead Sacopee Valley to a 3-0 victory over Poland in boys’ soccer action Saturday afternoon.

Michael Murphy and Richie Watson added tallies in the second half for the Hawks (4-3-1).

Goalie Matt Thebarge made 18 saves for the Knights (0-10), while goalkeeper Cameron Cyr had two saves for Sacopee Valley.

Edward Little 6, Skowhegan 0

AUBURN — Joel Musese scored two goals to lead Edward Little to a 6-0 shutout victory over Skowhegan in boys’ soccer action Friday afternoon.

The Red Eddies (6-2-1) jumped out to a 4-0 halftime lead. Alex Thompson contributed a goal and an assist for Edward Little.

Goalie Gavin Patten made 12 saves for the Indians (1-8), while goaltender Owen Mower prevented two to earn the win in net for Edward Little.

Girls’ soccer

Leavitt 2, Gardiner 0

TURNER — Nikki Daigle re-directed Shannon O’Malley’s cross three mintues into the second half to lead Leavitt to a 2-0 win over Gardiner in girls’ soccer action Saturday afternoon.

O’Malley scored a goal late to ice the game for the Hornets (3-5-2).

Goalie Tabytha Hembree made four saves for the Tigers (2-7), while goalkeeper Shelby Varney repelled five to preserve the shutout for Leavitt.

Buckfield 8, Vinalhaven 2

BUCKFIELD — Hannah Shields notched a hat trick as Buckfield sailed to an 8-2 victory over Vinalhaven in girls’ soccer action Saturday afternoon.

The Bucks (7-2) found the back of the net four times in each half. Rachel Warren contributed a pair of goals for Buckfield

Deja Doughty tallied a pair of goals for the Vikings (4-4) in the second half.

Goalie Marina Davis made nine saves for Vinalhaven, while goalkeeper Kaylee Harvey turned back five for Buckfield in the winning effort.
