AUBURN — After building a 2-1 lead in the first frame, Buckfield added another for insurance and went on to record a 3-1 win over St. Dom’s in a late-season boys’ soccer tilt Tuesday. 

Matt Beaucage led the Bucks (9-2-1) with two goals, while Ethan Jackson scored a goal and added an assist. Matt Pelletier scored the Saints’ (1-11) lone goal. 

Jacob Kraske made 10 saves for Buckfield, while Matt Curtis turned aside three shots for St. Dom’s. 

Telstar 1, Mt. Abram 0

SALEM — Kellen True scored with 4:34 remaining in regulation to give Telstar a 1-0 victory over Mt. Abram in boys’ soccer action Tuesday. 

Boston Ludder stopped all 16 shots fired at him to notch the shutout, while Xavier Romanoski turned aside four shots for the Roadrunners (4-7-1).

Field hockey

Edward Little 1, Lewiston 0

LEWISTON — Victoria Beliveau’s goal in the first half was enough for Edward Little to pull off a 1-0 victory over Twin Cities rival Lewiston in a late-season KVAC Class A South field hockey matchup Tuesday. 

Emmy Lashua (two) and Delaney Morneau (one) combined to record three saves for the Red Eddies (7-6-1), while Ashley Cronkhite (10) and Jill Labbe (seven) joined forces to deflect 17 shots between the posts for Lewiston (1-13). 

Leavitt 3, Oceanside 0

ROCKLAND — Bailey Derocher netted a pair of goals in the first half as Leavitt overpowered Oceanside 3-0 in a late-season field hockey tilt Tuesday.

Kaitlyn Leclerc also tallied for the Hornets (10-4), while Allie Belaire contributed with two assists. 

Hailey DeMascio needed only two saves to notch the shutout, while Mattie Hooper turned aside seven shots for Oceanside. 

Girls’ soccer

Mt. Blue 1, Oxford Hills 0

FARMINGTON — Jocelyn Daggett fired a shot off her toe and watched as it hit the far post, bounced off the goalie, ricocheted off the post once more and finally went into the net to give Mt. Blue a 1-0 late-season girls’ soccer victory over Oxford Hills.

Addie Schanz made 14 saves for the Cougars (3-8-1) to earn the shutout, while Kyrstin Paine deflected six shots for the struggling Vikings (1-11).

St. Dom’s 3, Buckfield 1

BUCKFIELD — Three different players scored as St. Dom’s toppled Buckfield 3-1 in girls’ soccer action Tuesday afternoon.

Avery Lutrzykowski, Madison Samson and Kristina Cornelio provided the Saints (2-10) one goal each in the first half.

Hannah Shields scored on a penalty kick in the second half for the Bucks (8-4).

Goalie Rachel Warren had nine saves for Buckfield, while goaltender Abby Castonguay prevented three to earn the win in net for St. Dom’s.

Waterville 4, Leavitt 0

TURNER — Sophie Webb netted a pair of goals Tuesday to propel Waterville to a 4-0 victory over Leavitt in girls’ soccer action. 

Anika Elias and Jordan Jabar also tallied for the Panthers to complete the scoring. 

TT Brandon needed only three saves to preserve the shutout, while Shelby Varney turned back 13 shots for the Hornets. 

Lake Region 4, Poland 0

BRIDGTON — Kristin Huntress led a group of four players to record goals Tuesday as Lake Region hustled to a 4-0 victory over Poland in girls’ soccer action. 

Nena Leavitt, Melody Millett and Leoni Kohnen also tallied for the Lakers (5-7) to complete the scoring. 

Madison Rock made 11 saves for Lake Region, while Madeline Simard turned aside 17 shots for the Knights (3-9).
