FARMINGTON — An Orrington man was injured Saturday when he fell asleep and his truck crossed the centerline into oncoming lanes on Wilton Road, then jumped a curb and entered Hight’s Chevrolet lot.

The truck driven by Timothy Dickinson, 51, then hit a light pole, snapping it in half, before continuing on to hit a dealership loaner truck, Farmington police officer Justin Blais said.

The broken light pole landed on another truck in the lot, he said.

Dickinson, who had been staying at a variety of places, had been on his way from work when the accident happened just before 7 a.m., Blais said.

Dickinson received lacerations but declined to be taken to a hospital by a Northstar EMS ambulance crew.

Blais estimated that Dickinson’s 2005 GMC was destroyed.

The other two trucks had rear-end damage.

Officer Jesse Clement and the Farmington Fire Rescue Department assisted Blais at the scene.
