LIVERMORE FALLS — Police are investigating thefts of oxycodone, ATVs and a money bag and residential break-ins that have occurred since Friday.
A resident of Fairview Street reported Monday morning that two ATVs were stolen. Officer Darian Nadeau recovered one of the ATVs at the end of the road, which did not have the key in it, Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.
The second ATV was recovered Monday night on the Chesterville Ridge Road in Fayette. It also did not have a key.
It is believed the ATVs were stolen on Sunday night.
A Souther Road resident reported at 2:33 a.m. Sunday that a woman had come to her door and asked to use the phone. The resident allowed her into the home after the woman said she had a fight with her boyfriend and needed to get help. She told her that her boyfriend left her on the side of the road, Steward said.
When the resident went to get the phone, the woman stole two bottles of oxycodone and ran out the door. The medicine cost $175.
The woman was described as being blonde, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, and wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans, Steward said.
Officer Vernon Stevens is investigating that case and a couple of burglaries.
A burglary was reported at 8:50 p.m. Saturday on Strickland Loop Road. A window was broken and a bedroom was ransacked, Steward said. It was unknown if anything was taken.
At about 10 p.m. Friday, a house-sitter arrived at a residence on Park Street to find the back door open. It was discovered a money bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash was missing, he said.
