What is the most pressing problem in your district and what do you plan to do about it?

Jobs and the economy, especially around the forest products industry. I am heading the legislative commission to determine what can be done to help this industry. I plan to champion any legislation coming from this committee, including efforts to streamline permitting, etc., to allow electrical microgrid development.

Gov. Paul LePage wants to eliminate the state income tax. Do you support that? If not, why not?

I would consider supporting such an change after we fund education at the 55 percent level and work to reduce the property tax burden on our local citizens. Property tax reduction is my priority.

Are you willing to support raising the fuel tax to fix Maine roads? If not, why not?

The relationship between the governor and the Legislature has deteriorated over the past six years. What can the Legislature do to improve that relationship?

We need to stay focused and not distracted by issues/statements that do not effect legislation to allow the state to move forward. In other words, we need to just do our jobs.

What methods do you support to reduce opiate addiction in Maine?

I have and will continue to support MaineCare expansion. This expansion can help low income individuals get the help they need. I will also support and efforts that increase enforcement andD counseling/education efforts. We need both, and not one or the other.

How are you voting on the referendum questions?
