The Portland Press Herald reported (http://bit.ly/2f3AkiN ) Iowa-based Pella Corp. announced Wednesday it has acquired Duratherm Windows Corp. in Vassalboro. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Duratherm has made custom hardwood windows, stairways and doors since 1967. President Tim Downing says the partnership will create “exciting possibilities” for the company.

Downing and his 70 employees will maintain the brand for the time being. It will be integrated over time into the Pella Crafted Luxury collection.

This is Pella’s third recent acquisition. With the Duratherm purchase, it will operate 13 manufacturing locations in the United States.
