FARMINGTON — New York Times bestselling author Michael Paterniti will read from his work at the University of Maine at Farmington’s Visiting Writers Series at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10.

The event will be held at the Landing at the UMF Olsen Student Center. He will sign books afterwards.

Paterniti is the author of “The Telling Room” and “Driving Mr. Albert.” His essay collection, “Love and Other Ways of Dying,” was long-listed for the 2015 National Book Award.

He is a contributing writer at the New York Times Magazine and a correspondent at GQ. His writing has appeared in various outlets, including The New Yorker, National Geographic, Harper’s Magazine, The Guardian, Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, Esquire and the radio show “This American Life.”

Paterniti’s honors include a National Endowment for the Arts grant, fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, and a National Magazine Award, for which he’s been a nine-time finalist.

He’s the co-founder of a children’s storytelling center in Portland, where he lives with his wife and three children.
