LEWISTON — Police arrested a local man they say fired shots at a car stopped on Sabattus Street on Friday.
Police said Jauston Sanders, 24, of 195 Lincoln St., fired four to five shots from a handgun in the area of Sabattus and Howe streets before walking up Sabattus Street.
The shooter was identified as a black man wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
The driver of the vehicle reported the shooting to police. Detectives discovered that the victim and suspect know each other and have had previous altercations, according to a news release Monday.
Evidence was collected at the scene and from the victim’s vehicle.
