FARMINGTON — A Franklin County justice sentenced an Anson woman Friday to six years in prison with all but 2½ years suspended for unlawful sexual contact with a child under age 12.
Anna LaRochelle, 26, was also sentenced to seven years of probation.
Justice William Stokes also sentenced her to two years, to be served concurrently, for visual sexual aggression against a child.
LaRochelle, Jamie and Tami Ouellette of Wilton were charged in February 2015 with sexually molesting a child from June 1, 2014, to Feb. 12, 2015, and making the child watch them have sex.
LaRochelle pleaded guilty in September, not agreeing with the state’s evidence but acknowledging a jury could have found her guilty.
The victim appeared at the sentencing Friday to read a letter but gave way to tears.
“I can’t stop thinking about what they did to me,” her mother read for her. “I now have an anger problem that I’ll have to deal with my whole life.”
Assistant District Attorney Claire Andrews said the girl lost her childhood and the incidents will have a lasting effect on her life.
This was three adults against one child, Andrews said.
The state asked for a sentence of 10 years with all but five suspended and nine years probation.
Luann Calcagni, LaRochelle’s attorney, said the Ouellettes took advantage of her disabilities.
LaRochelle has been diagnosed with some cognitive reasoning and mental health issues, she chose to not put the family through a trial, has no criminal history and is in counseling, Calcagni said.
She sought a sentence of four years with all but five months suspended and five years probation.
“She will serve a lifelong sentence in a number of ways,” Calcagni said. “At 26 years, she is now a felon and may lose her second child.”
“I am sorry,” LaRochelle tearfully said to the victim. “There are not enough words to make it right. I am taking responsibility for my actions. I’ve lost so much. I have nothing to live for.”
LaRochelle has probation conditions, including not being around a child under age 18 without her probation officer’s approval; not going near places where children frequent, including parks, schools and fairgrounds; registering as a sex offender for the rest of her life; not possessing or viewing explicit and sexually stimulating material; not using the internet or computer without her probation officer’s approval; and having any electronic devices searched at random.
Jamie Ouellette, 38, was sentenced this month to 20 years in prison, with all but eight years suspended, for sexually abusing a child under age 12.
His wife, Tami Ouellette, was indicted this month on charges of gross sexual assault, unlawful sexual contact and visual sexual aggression against a child.
