NORWAY — Christmas for Kids and Christmas for Teens, with the support of caring individuals, churches and other civic organizations, is working to provide Christmas to children in the Oxford Hills area.
They are asking for help from the community.
Connie Allen is chairperson of Christmas for Kids and works with a number of volunteers. Janis Hutchins and Sue Batchelder are the team leaders in shopping and filling the cases. Many others work to provide the many parts involved.
Jean Delamater is the chairperson of Christmas for Teens and works with a number of volunteers. Carol West coordinates the shoppers for the Teens program.
With all this support, there is still a tremendous need in our communities, said Allen.
“Rightstart Inc. is asking for people’s assistance to make certain that no child is forgotten. Please give a cash donation or a gift and, by doing so, people can be assured that they have played a part in making that simple dream of a merry Christmas come true this holiday season,” Allen said in a statement.
Donations should be sent to: Christmas for Kids, P.O. Box 726, Norway, ME 04268. Gifts can be dropped off at the Chamber of Commerce office, 4 Western Ave., Paris.
For those families in the Oxford Hills area who need help this year, applications to Christmas for Kids and Christmas for Teens can be picked up at Community Concepts Inc. in Market Square, Paris. The deadline for applications is Thursday, Dec. 8.
Christmas for Kids and Christmas for Teens are programs of Rightstart Inc., a non-profit organization serving the children of the Oxford Hills area by providing programs and services.
