1939 – 2016
OXFORD — Kenneth E. Farrington (Ken) passed away on Thursday, Dec. 22, at home on his “mountain”, with his loving wife, Denise, and daughters by his side.
He was born March 9, 1939, with the heart of an evercool young man.
Ken remains loved by his son, Ken Farrington, Jr. and his partner, Connie Dyke; his two daughters and their husbands, Dawn Allain and Adam Johnson and Stephanie and Scott Savard; and his brother and sister-in-law, Denis and Donna Farrington. He remains the hip Grandpa Buck to his six beautiful grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madeline, Eli, Megan, Hayden and Mason.
He grew up in South Portland with his parents, Louise and Fred Farrington, who preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving as an 82nd Airborne paratrooper, served in the Panama conflict, and then spent his career as a machinist in Gray.
He was a true Mainer with a passion for touring back country Maine roads in his “Puff” truck with his wife. He was an intent listener for those who needed to be heard and loved relaxing in his recliner staring at his woodstove. He will be missed terribly by his many friends and extended family, but will be remembered for his love of classic rock and his kind gentle soul.
