WINDHAM — Lewiston finished the year on a strong note Saturday, closing out 2016 with a 52-41 win over Windham in a Class AA girls’ basketball matchup.
Hannah Chaput led all players with 16 points for the Blue Devils (4-2), including one from three-point range. Morgan Eliasen also buried a trey and finished with 13 points. Victoria Harris added 10 points and hauled in 16 rebounds in a dominating night on the glass.
Hannah Talon was the Eagles’ top scorer with 13 points.
Rangeley 58, Highview Christian 27
RANGELEY — Natasha Haley was all over the court Saturday, scoring 24 points, grabbing 17 rebounds and adding six steals to help lead Rangeley to a 58-27 win over visiting Highview Christian.
Brook Egan added 12 points for the Lakers (4-1), adding five assists and five steals.
Cassidy Lessner paced Highview (1-4) with 10 points.
Mt. Abram 55, Dirigo 33
SALEM — Summer Ross poured in a game-high 19 points to lead Mt. Abram to a 55-33 win over Dirigo in an MVC girls’ basketball matchup Saturday.
Megan Sorel added 14 and Marya Beedy added 13 for the Roadrunners (4-2), who started slowly but pulled away in the second half.
Sophia Jacques led the Cougars (1-5) with seven points. Katie Morse, Alyssa McTyre and Alexa Varnum each added six in the loss.
Boys’ basketball
Rangeley 65, Highview Christian 24
RANGELEY — Kyle LaRochelle drained 15 points and hauled in six rebounds to lead Rangeley to a 65-24 win over Highview Christian in a Class D boys’ basketball tilt on Saturday.
Zach Trafton added 14 for the Lakers (1-4) in their first win of the season. Nolan Boone drained a trey and finished with 11 points.
Jeffrey Macomber led the way for Highview (1-5) with 14 points.
