LIVERMORE FALLS — A Turner man remains jailed on a charge of sexually abusing a child under age 16 last week, police said.
Isaac Bryant, 28, was arrested Saturday on a felony charge of unlawful sexual contact and taken to the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn.
Officer Stephen E. Gould investigated a complaint from parents reporting the abuse at about 7:30 a.m. Friday, Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said. The abuse reportedly occurred Thursday.
Bryant was injured when he jumped out a window after Gould went to his residence, Steward said.
Bryant was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington and transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
On behalf of Livermore Falls police, Lewiston police arrested Bryant on Saturday, Steward said. If convicted, Bryant faces up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Bryant also has a probation hold for an unrelated matter.
He remained at the Auburn jail Tuesday on $1,500 cash bail on the sex charge. He was being held without bail on the probation hold, a corrections officer said.
Bryant is scheduled to appear April 12 at 8th District Court in Lewiston.
