SOUTH PARIS — The U.S. Small Business Administration recently awarded Community Concepts Finance Corp. with the honor of Top Performing Microlender for the second year in a row.
To achieve this recognition CCFC provided 24 loans to Maine businesses through the SBA Microloan program totaling more than $899,000 in fiscal year 2016.
CCFC greatly exceeded its fiscal year 2016 goals throughout its business lending services, showing continued growth and measurable impact. In total, CCFC invested more than $3.1 million with 54 Maine businesses in fiscal year 2016. Doing so helped create 158 new jobs through its strategic business lending, more than double its initial goal, and provided technical assistance to 133 clients, nearly double the expected rate.
“This recognition by the SBA emphasizes the focus we have as an organization on providing access to capital for those traditionally left in the lurch,” loan officer Zachary Maher said. He received the award on behalf of CCFC at the ceremony Dec. 13 at the Senator Inn in Augusta.
CCFC provides loans to existing businesses and startup ventures across Maine. For more information go to MaineBusinessLending.com.
