BETHEL — Lisbon built a 14-point advantage in the first half and held strong during a late rally to pull off a 61-54 win over Telstar in a midseason boys’ basketball tilt Thursday.

Jonah Sautter led the Greyhounds (5-2) with 28 points, highlighted by four shots from beyond the arc. Henry Doyle chipped in with 14 points in an effective two-player attack.

The Rebels (1-6) were paced by Avry Griffin with 18 points, while Jarrett Bean tallied 16 and Tanner Wheeler added 11.

Buckfield 34, Greater Portland Christian 33

BUCKFIELD — Tyler Gammon put back an offensive rebound with five seconds left to propel Buckfield to a 34-33 victory over Greater Portland Christian Academy in boys’ basketball action Thursday.

After trailing 23-18 after three quarters, the Bucks put together a solid fourth quarter by picking up the pace and getting to the free-throw line, and outscored the Lions (1-5) 19-10 in the final quarter.

Buckfield junior guard Ethan Jackson led all scorers with 17 points, including four 3-point baskets. Jake Kraske chipped in nine points for the Bucks (2-4).

Ethan Spaulding paced Greater Portland Christian with seven points, while Eddie Daigneault added six. 

Girls’ basketball

Madison 56, Oak Hill 46

WALES — Sydney LeBlanc and Ashley Emery led Madison to a 56-46 girls’ basketball victory over Oak Hill on Thursday.

LeBlanc put up 17 points and Emery scored 16 for the Bulldogs (5-2). Each hit a pair of 3-pointers.

Freshman Desirae Dumais topped the Raiders (4-4) with 15 points, while Sara Moring contributed 10.

Winthrop 45, Hall-Dale 36

WINTHROP — Thanks to a 10-5 run in the third quarter, Winthrop was able to pull away late and secure a 45-36 win over Hall-Dale in midseason girls’ hoops action Thursday evening.

Kena Souza led the Ramblers (3-3) with 14 points, while Aaliyah Wilson-Falcone chipped in with eight. Bri McClure contributed six points and 11 rebounds.

Sabrina Freeman paced the winless Bulldogs (0-8) with 14 points, while Amanda Benner added nine points and hauled down 10 rebounds. 

Mountain Valley 44, Lisbon 33

LISBON — Ashley Russell poured 25 points into the net Thursday to propel Mountain Valley to a 44-33 victory over Lisbon in more girls’ basketball action. 

Liza White chipped in for the Falcons with nine points, the only other player to approach double figures. 

The Greyhounds were paced by Kaylin Le and Giana Russo with 10 points apiece. 

Girls’ hockey

St. Dom’s 11, Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse 0

BRUNSWICKSeven different St. Dom’s scorers found the back of the net as the Saints fired 35 shots on goal and cruised to an 11-0 shutout win over Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse in girls’ hockey action.

St. Dom’s scored early, by getting three first-period goals, including one of Kristina Cornelio’s three goals. She also had an assist. Sophomore Bugsy Hammerton tallied six assists and a goal. Isabelle Frenette added a pair of goals and an assist.

Payton Winslow stopped a pair of shots for St. Dom’s (9-0). Lily Schenck stopped 24 shots in the loss.
