RANGELEY — Natasha Haley scored a game-high 16 points to lead Rangeley to a 47-28 victory over Temple in girls’ basketball action Wednesday afternoon.

The Lakers (7-2) outscored Temple 14-4 in each of the first and third quarters. Sydney Royce contributed 11 points and collected three assists.

Kiara Carr led the Bereans  (7-2) with 13 points, while Veronica Rossignol tossed in four field goals, including a three-pointer in the losing effort.

Pine Tree Academy 27, Buckfield 12

FREEPORT — Adriana DePalma and Angel Hood scored eight points each as Pine Tree Academy coasted to a 27-12 victory over Buckfield in girls’ basketball action Wednesday afternoon.

The Breakers (5-2) shutout The Bucks (2-7) by a margin of 8-0 in the first quarter and led 15-3 at the half.

Senior guard Kali Litchfield posted two field goals, including a three-pointer for Buckfield in the losing effort.

Lake Region 58, St. Dom’s 31

AUBURN — Kristin Huntress compiled 19 points to lead Lake Region to a 58-31 triumph over St. Dom’s in girls’ basketball action Tuesday afternoon.

The Lakers scored went on a 21-8 run in the third quarter to add to a 27-10  halftime lead. Chandler True pitched in with 13 points.

Allie Veinote and Abby Castonguay posted six points each for the Saints in the losing effort.

Temple 56, Rangeley 41

RANGELEY — Senior forward Bradley Smith excelled with 37 points to power Temple to a 56-41 victory over Rangeley in boys’ basketball action Wednesday evening.

The Bereans (5-4) took a 30-15 into the midpoint. Senior forward Kevin Avila contributed seven points for Temple.

Rangeley struggled in their effort to contain Smith from the inside, but Temple used their size to prevail.

Junior guard Kyle LaRochelle posted a team-high 23 points for the Lakers (3-6) in the losing effort.

Kings 5, Cony 3

AUBURN — Drake Goupil netted a pair of goals and Connor Cyr added a goal and two helpers to pace the Poland/Gray-New Gloucester/Oak Hill/Leavitt Kings to a 5-3 win over Cony/Monmouth/Hall Dale on Wednesday.

Theo Mahalaris added a goal in the first frame, and Bailey Drouin mopped things up with an empty-netter in the final minute for the Kings (2-1-1). Ashton Dozois registered the win between the pipes with a 17-save effort.

Cole Lockhart scored twice for the Rams (4-3), while Dalton Bowie turned back 20 of the 24 shots he saw in the loss.

Edward Little 4, Thornton Academy 1

AUBURN — Junior forward Eli Thibodeau scored a pair of goals as Edward Little downed Thornton Academy 4-1 in boys’ ice hockey action Wednesday evening.

The Red Eddies (2-6) tallied two goals in each of the first two periods. Senior defensman Cody Woodward posted a goal and two assists for Edward Little.

Chris Balzano provided solid defense for the Trojans, but the offense managed only one goal in the losing effort.
