BETHEL — After sprinting out to a 12-point advantage in the first frame, Winthrop stayed in high gear and raced away to a 86-57 win over Telstar in a boys’ basketball tilt Thursday.
Jacob Hickey led the undefeated Ramblers (13-0) with a game-high 27 points, while Garrett Tsouprake tallied 16 and Cam Wood added 14.
The Rebels (4-8) were paced by Tanner Wheeler with a solid 18-point performance, the only Telstar player to reach double figures.
Wiscasset 59, Mountain Valley 54
RUMFORD — Wiscasset held off a fourth-quarter rally by Mountain Valley to secure a narrow 59-54 boys’ basketball victory on Thursday evening.
Ethan James led the Wolverines (9-4) with a game-high 20 points, while Zach Reed tallied 17 and Cody Roberts added 15.
Jacob Blanchard paced the Falcons (5-7) with 16 points, while Cam Godbois chipped in with eight.
Girls’ basketball
St. Dom’s 52, Buckfield 21
AUBURN — St. Dom’s built a 26-point lead in the first half and cruised to a convincing 52-21 romp over Buckfield in a midseason girls’ hoops tilt Thursday.
Caroline Gastonguay led the Saints with 11 points, while Chloe Dwinell chipped in with eight.
The Bucks were paced by Seneca Jacobs with a seven-point effort, while Hannah Shields added five.
Madison 42, Lisbon 20
MADISON — Lauren Hay led a group of seven players to score points Thursday as Madison hustled to a 42-20 rout over Lisbon in girls’ hoops action.
Hay led the Bulldogs (9-3) with 15 points, while Marah Hall tallied eight and Ashley Emery added seven.
The Greyhounds (6-6) were paced by Kaylin Le with nine points.
Monmouth 55, Hall-Dale 22
FARMINGDALE — Monmouth jumped out to a 16-point lead in the first quarter and sped away to post a 55-22 girls’ basketball victory over Hall-Dale on Thursday evening.
Tia Day led the Mustangs (11-2) with 12 points, while Hannah Anderson tallied nine and Abby Allen added eight.
Sabrina Freeman paced the winless Bulldogs (0-14) with eight points in a solid effort.
Carrabec 39, Dirgo 36
DIXFIELD — Carrabec was paced by Bailey Dumphy and Melanie Clark, who each had 13 points, in a 39-36 girls’ basketball victory over Dirigo on Thursday.
The win for the Cobras lifts them to 3-9 on the season.
Sophia Jacques had 11 points to lead the Cougars (4-9). Kaicey Conant chipped in with eight points.

Lewiston/Oak Hill/Monmouth 4, Morse/Mt. Aarat 1
BRUNSWICK — Jordan Mynahan and Chloe Morin each had a goal and two assists to pace the Blue Devils to a 4-1 victory over the Eagles in girls’ hockey action Thursday.
Katie Lemieux had a goal and an assist and Katie Poland also potted a goal for the Blue Devils (6-6-1)
Meagan Gosselin and Camree St. Hilaire combined to make 16 saves in the victory.
Kieley Hetherington scored for the Eagles (0-14-0), while Lily Schenk made 22 saves.
