FARMINGTON — New Ventures Maine is offering classes to help local residents get training. The classes are free of charge but require registration.
Your Next Career Move — 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at the New Ventures Maine Farmington office, 109 Perham St. Suite #2. This workshop will help point you in the right direction. It will cover what to consider when making a career choice, steps to create a career plan, and the resources available to help you succeed. At the end of this workshop, participants will have a basic outline of what they want to decide, discover or plan.
Building Confidence — 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 15 and 22, at the New Ventures Maine Farmington Office, 108 Perham St., Suite #2. The three-week class will help participants assess self-confidence and learn some concrete tools that can help throughout a job search.
Intro to Self-Employment — 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at the New Ventures Maine Farmington office, 109 Perham St. Suite #2. This introductory workshop will help participants decide if self-employment is the right choice for them. The class covers the pros and cons of owning a business, steps needed to get started, the major elements of a business plan, and the many resources available to help succeed.
