TROY (AP) — A Maine woman charged in the death of her infant son is free on bail and will be allowed to see her two other young sons.

The Morning Sentinel reported (http://bit.ly/2l0g1rK ) that Miranda Hopkins of Troy was released Tuesday night from a Wiscasset jail after a jury indicted her on a charge of manslaughter. A murder charge she had originally faced was dismissed.

One of Hopkins’ attorneys says Hopkins was released on $50,000 worth of property. Bail conditions don’t prevent Hopkins from seeing her two sons, ages 6 and 8, who are with relatives.

The 32-year-old Hopkins was arrested last month in connection with the death of her 7-week-old son, Jaxson. Police said the baby suffered blunt force head injuries, rib fractures and bleeding on the surface of the brain.
