DEAR SUN SPOTS: About 25 years ago there was a pet store on Center Street in Auburn called Fin, Feather & Fur. The owners were Paul and I believe his wife was Kathy. I have a bird related question for them. Perhaps they will see this or someone who knows them will and send me a text with contact info, 207-576-4288. Thank you. — Paula, no town.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The committee designated by Paris Town Manager Vic Hodgkins to revamp the Paris Town website has a research question for Paris residents: If we were to offer a “live chat” option on our Paris website, like Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 3 p.m., do you feel this would be a useful option? Any feedback on this question, or for other online features you would like to see, will be relayed to the committee and very much appreciated. Our website is www.parismaine.org and comments can be sent to info@parismaine.org. Thank you for taking the time to share your suggestions.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Several months ago a young boy was accidentally hit and killed in the darkness of the morning at Main and Frye streets in Lewiston. Several people put stuffed animals on the telephone pole, which was kind of them. I believe that after such a long time has passed that they should be removed. I’m reminded of the tragedy as I pass there several times a week. Please help find a way to dispose of them. Thank you. — No name, no town.

ANSWER: Maine has no legislation regarding roadside memorials. They are allowed as monuments as long as they are not a danger. If you have a concern contact Lewiston Public Works, 207-784-5753, or Maine DOT at 207-624-3000. They can contact family members about removing the items.
