HARTFORD — Lisa Helene (Knight) Scott, 63, died Saturday, Feb. 18, with her family by her side, at her home in Hartford after a battle with a long illness.
She was born March 29, 1953, in Wareham, Mass., to Olin T. Knight and Jenny (Roach) Knight. Lisa attended public schools in Massachusetts and graduated from Barnstable High School in 1972. After spending three wonderful years together, she was united with the love of her life, Bill Scott Jr., on Oct. 13, 1990, in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. Lisa loved working and helping people so very much. Her love of design and crafting enabled her to decorate many weddings and events; she was always the first person people would go to. Lisa had a knack for antiques. She could pick a needle out of a haystack at yard sales and thrift stores and make the most beautiful piece of furniture or decoration. Lisa loved her New England Patriots, especially “her” Tom Brady. She enjoyed Sunday football games with her Patriots pants, sweatshirt, socks, blanket and her husband.
Lisa will be remembered for being one of the kindest-hearted people you have ever met. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished through her children and her 18 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Lisa was so very proud of her children and grandchildren. Lisa was also a loving sister to all of her siblings, whom she loved very much. She especially loved her daily phone conversations with her sister-in-law, Linda Porter. Linda was not only her sister-in-law but also her best friend.
Lisa is survived by her husband and love of her life of 30 years, Bill Scott Jr. of Hartford; her children, Vanessa Coats and companion, Robert Loring, of Buckfield, Robin Scott and her companion, Rick Mines, of Hartford, Heather Bowlin and her husband, Doug, of Hartford, Billy Scott and his wife, Vanessa, of Rumford, and Joseph Scott and his companion, Megan Howard, of Fayette; 18 grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart; her great-granddaughter; her sister, Susan Mendoza and her husband, Alan, of Cape Cod, Mass.; her brother, Edward Knight of Cape Cod, Mass.; her sisters-in-law, Linda Porter of Hartford, Kathy Brightman and her husband, Arthur, of Wareham, Mass.; and her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Olin T. Knight; mother, Jenny (Roach) Knight; brothers, William “Billy” Knight and Victor Knight; father-in-law, William Scott Sr. and his companion, Sandy Grimes; brother-in-law, Armand F. Rowe Sr.; daughter, Megan Scott; and her beloved dog, Cree.
A thank-you to Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice for their wonderful care, and a special thank-you to Tammy Beal, RN, for her care and countless hours spent with Lisa and her family.
