Society planning Sweet Talking series

MECHANIC FALLS — The Mechanic Falls Historical Society is launching Sweet Talking, a series of meetings for people to listen to or share remembrances from their lives or the lives of family members.

The first meeting is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Anglican Church, 64 Elm St.

Remembrances don’t need to be connected to Mechanic Falls in any way.

“We have to come understand and learn that often the same experiences happen no matter where we grew up or lived before,” according to a new release from the society.

Future meetings may include a guest speaker or members from another society, club or organization.

Tri-Town Penguins to meet

DURHAM — The Tri-Town Penguins Snowmobile Club of Durham, Freeport and Pownal meets at 7 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month, September to April, at the Durham Fire Station at 615 Hallowell Road.

The next meeting will be Feb. 28. New members are always welcome.

Sabattus Seniors to meet

SABATTUS — Sabattus Seniors will meet Thursday, March 2, at the Maxwell Gill Hall for a roast pork meal.

Reservations are required by Friday, Feb. 24, by contacting 207-375-4037 or 207-375-6588.

If school in Sabattus is cancelled due to weather, the Senior’s meeting will also be cancelled.
