LEWISTON — Genuine Cajun cooking and The State Street Traditional Jazz Band will bring Mardi Gras to L-A at the Gendron Franco Center, Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. Doors and bar open at 6 p.m.
Reserved tickets for the dinner-and-dance Mardi Gras party are $20 each.
Seating is limited for the meal and show. In the great tradition of those legendary New Orleans celebrations, the Mardi Gras audience will be treated to the sounds of the Big Easy, free-flowing spirits and authentic Cajun cuisine. The menu includes jambalaya with chicken and shrimp, andouille sausage with peppers and onions, Cajun-roasted sweet potatoes, and king cake for dessert.
A slice of history brings the rousing sounds of New Orleans jazz: The State Street Traditional Jazz Band of Portland honors the joyful roots of the true origins of jazz .
Guests are encouraged to wear costumes to the party. For those who do not have their own Mardi Gras masks, there will be some available for purchase at the event.
The Dolard and Priscilla Gendron Franco Center is handicap accessible. The price of the ticket includes the meal, show, dancing, prizes and on-site parking at the Continental Mill on Oxford Street.
