FARMINGTON — Selectpersons from Franklin County towns will vote at a caucus Monday, March 6, to fill seats on the Franklin County Budget Advisory Committee.
The caucus is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the county courthouse.
There is one three-year position open in each district, county Clerk Julie Magoon said Tuesday.
If someone is elected to serve on the budget panel this year and then is not re-elected as a selectman, there will be another caucus to fill that spot, she said.
In District 1, Jay Selectperson Tom Goding’s term expired.
Jay selectboard Chairman Terry Bergeron encouraged members of the Jay board Monday night to attend the caucus to try and get a third Jay selectperson on the committee.
There were three Jay selectpersons on the budget panel last year: Bergeron, Goding and Tim DeMillo. Bergeron and DeMillo are still serving on the committee.
District 1, represented by Commissioner Terry Brann of Wilton, serves Carthage, Jay, Temple and Wilton, and Washington and Perkins townships.
In District 2, Farmington Selectman Stephan Bunker’s term has expired, Magoon said.
Serving on the panel are Farmington Board of Selectmen Chairman Joshua Bell and New Sharon Selectman Travis Pond.
District 2, represented by Commissioner Chairman Charles Webster of Farmington, serves Chesterville, Farmington and New Sharon.
In District 3, Phillips Selectman Ray Gaudette’s term expired, Magoon said.
Continuing on the committee are Avon Selectman John Calloway and Strong Selectman Mike Pond.
District 3, represented by Commissioner Clyde Barker of Strong, serves the towns Avon, Carrabassett Valley, Coplin Plantation, Dallas Plantation, Eustis, Industry, Kingfield, New Vineyard, Phillips, Rangeley Plantation, Rangeley, Sandy River Plantation, Strong, Weld, and unorganized territories of East Central Franklin, North Franklin, West Central Franklin and Wyman.
