As President Donald Trump and Congress push to lower taxes in the high income brackets, I am worried that they will quietly remove funding for provisions of the Affordable Care Act, leaving millions of hardworking people at risk of losing health care insurance coverage.
Would that really be a savings for the majority of American people who are not rich?
How could it possibly help ordinary people, or hospitals and towns, to not have affordable health insurance available to everyone?
Would anyone who needed medical care for such things as childbirth, asthma, accidents, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, depression, arthritis, etc., say “I am glad I don’t have health insurance. I don’t mind worrying about how to pay for health care”?
I want the nation’s leaders to improve the Affordable Care Act, not get rid of it.
