CHESTERVILLE — Selectmen and the Budget Committee have approved adding $1,000 to the North Chesterville Extension Homemakers’ account for a town event this year.
Budget Committee member Kim Lessard asked for money to bring back some sort of town event.
In years past, Chesterville Days was popular and included a parade and chicken barbecue.
Extension member Glenda Barker told selectmen at their meeting Thursday night that the group is willing to help, but would want others involved.
Selectman Tiffany Estabrook said fundraising could be done to pay for some costs. She said there could be a bouncy house for children, a cotton candy machine and a barbecue.
Barker said the Historical Society and the Fire Department could be asked to take part.
“The food alone could cost $1,000,” Estabrook said. “Start with $1,000 and see how it goes this year.”
